Nirut And The Invasion Of Dkoom (The Final History - The Sixth)

Nirut and the Invasion of Dkoom (The Final History - the Sixth)

by Dennis Siluk

Advance-or-Afterward: All is told now with this ending the past (sketch), of the things that came about in "The Soldiers of Nirut," and his histories, of which this is the sixth and final history, for all the histories combined tell of the times and places of Nirut's life, and even on how he perished. Yet men spoke of him thereafter breaking the confines of the Galaxy; deathless they thought he was, and many thought he was immortal, but he again proved them wrong. His fame came because he had conquered SSARG, the one and only planet that was unconquerable, other than Siren the Great, conquering it prior to him, yet it was by her friendships with the Vipers and Rats, she did so, and her legend spreading across the planet like a windstorm. In Nirut's case, it was an invasion, and occupation.

But even heroes like Nirut, looked up to others, like to Siren, as he did, over time and wished to escape their shadows within time, thus, it was at times for Nirut a great empty, which he tried to fill by this one man, one army conquest, the one his father could not do, felt he could not do, and did not do. As a result, the lore masters, have yet to tell their stories, perhaps they will be more kind than I. And so we see an old galactic order fade as a new one comes in, as often as it is said, and I shall say it again, change is inevitable.

And now for the last history on Nirut:

The Invasion

Map of the Geography of SSARG (22, 483 BC)

Under the totalitarianism of the Blue King, the rich got richer, man's household on Lihterb acquired and increased twofold their previous fortunes, compared to those who ruled Lihterb before him; happiness prevailed for the most part, but if you were against him, cruel revenge, he was King of the Lands, his people multiplied their possessions, and in the process created mighty engines, towers, buildings, spaceships, and flew now wherever, whenever they wished.

Nirut's armies had now arrived on Retina, with his fierce men of war, to invade SSARG. General Niruh, the second son to the Blue King, was under Nirut's command.

"The days will now be darkened on SSARG, we will descend," he told Yahoo, his bodyguard, General Adviser, and the strongest of men. "We must invade, before all surprise is lost," said the king.

"If I find any more betrayers," said Yahoo the Strong, "I will bury them to their heads, and let the birds and the Tor-rats pick them to death."

(The spacecraft now were in the air-heading into space, two-hundred and fifty of them, 10,000-infintry soldiers, some to land in the desert, others in the grasslands, still others on the Bear Mesas.)

"I will go to the south, then north and then west, and back to the south," said General Niruh, to his brother Nirut.

End of the World

Said Niruh, in a most provocative manner, "I have change my plans, I will go to the north instead, the bear mesas, and kill the lot of them, then shift to the west, were Jason is acquiring his people for his army, out of the cave dwellers, stop the progress, and then shift to the south, to the grasslands and the Quiet Mound, and if it is vacate, the fortress, I will make camp there and wait for you my king," then he added, "I counsel you brother, prepare yourselves, and the spacecrafts to land by the Quiet Mound, here we can lay in wait for the rest of the armies!"

(The king listened, and held his reserve longer, he knew it was not going to be so swift, and easy as his brother proclaimed, it never is, but he smiled, touched his shoulder, as if to say, 'sure,' and bid him farewell. He knew there would have to be a long march to the Quiet Mound, simply because they would have to wipe dry the tribes in the desert, one by one, and drive on from there, and their spacecraft could not stay long in the desert sands and winds and continue to operate properly, but he said none of this to his brother. Yahoo would be in the desert, and time would tell, along with another general.)

Jason the Wizard, saw the spacecraft landing, descending, said (troubled) "...because of the war Nirut now plots, my kingdom to be will not be started until after he leaves, or we destroy him."

One often thinks in war, numbers outweigh everything, and he could get more troops, perhaps to equal Nirut's, if just given enough time. But he was not trained as a warrior, or general, or leader in particular, and overlooked Nirut's capabilities.

Answered Grleg (wife to Jason the Wise, originally from the Shadow Lands, who had escaped the abode, for he was a ghost inside a dead body, on SSARG; Grleg was taken from her father by Jason, as was Sun, her sister, and in time would marry Scro of Lihterb, by command of Nirut), said Grleg, to Jason, "It is better we exile the desert, try to join forces with Terb either on the way or at the Quiet Mound, there we can battle the great forces of Nirut." (If anything, Grleg had learned a thing or two of war, her father was always fighting someone within his province.)

(SSARG, the invasion seemed to be the end of the world for them-them being, the hybrid creatures and humanoids on the planet, the sky was filled with ships landing here and there in the dark of the night.)

General Niruh

There were storms and hammering winds throughout the whole planet of SSARG the night Nirut's spacecraft were to land, and were landing on the planet. Out of the 250-spacecraft, only 150-were able to land, about twenty-five were destroyed, and seventy-five turned back to Retina. As Nirut looked at the situation, he murmured: '...as expected, what could happen, often does happen...' and shook his head, but that or nothing would stop him from conquering the planet, except his death.

Two great gray shadowy clouds emerged over the landing area of Nirut's ships, upon the Bear-mesas. Many of the men were scared to get out of their spaceships, the bears were some thirteen feet tall, could walk on their hind legs-clumsy, but nonetheless walk almost upright, perhaps 2000-pounds each, brown long fur, upper and lower teeth extended outward three inches or so, not allowing them to close their mouths completely.

As perhaps 400-of them stood outside the ships, some trying to push the ships over over, as the storms produced lightening, and thunderous roars, Niruh was unshaken by all this, and he shot a piercing poisonous arrow into one of the beasts, and it fell dead, just like that-so simple it seemed. When the rest of the soldiers saw this, their fear evaporated. Had the whole 250-ships landed, they would have exterminated all of the bears, but because of the storm, and lack of ships, they killed 2000-bears that evening, about 50-percent of its population, and readied themselves to head onto the western part of the planet.

(And so the first hours of the invasion was not perfect, what could go wrong did, but their were many victories.)

Battle Ready

After the battle with the bears, the soldiers of Nirut, their fear was diminished, and they were arrayed for battle, in line formation, armed with battle gear; those that landed in the desert, were enduring the sky's heat as General Yemen, landed under the morning's burning red orb.

In the grasslands, the ships sunk into the bog, yet the soldiers escaped to dry land with a few viper bites, the invasion was in progress-and it would not stop until total victory.

Accordingly, doom was to fall upon the masses, but it would not be quick; history would not record it quite like that. Nirut's army would be shredded, as he would do the same to the whole planet, and in the process, Lihterb would be dominated by the Western King, another battle to be. Nonetheless, that first battle victory, Nirut's soldiers drank and ate in laughter, and mirth, and with it came music and dance, and they were ready for the next.
