In the movie industry, a movie poster is an effective tool for promoting a film. A good movie poster can reflect what the whole movie is all about. So how can you make your own movie poster? We offer you the following simple steps.
Watch the movie
Before making the poster, you need to be familiar with the movie first. You can start by watching the film several times so that you can have an idea what the gist of the movie is all about. After getting a concrete picture of the whole movie, you can now think of a wonderful concept on how you can express it in your poster. Think about the striking parts of the film, deliberate on which part was the highlight.
Select some important scenes
Select which part of the movie that can add a great impact on the promotional poster you are about to make. Take a still photo of that specific scene and import it in photoshop. If you found several highlight scenes, choose among them stills that feature the main casts, most importantly the lead stars of the film. It's just appropriate to feature the primary stars in the poster. Take those stills then import them to your photoshop.
Arrange the stills
After selecting the most eye-catching stills from the movie, have them arranged in a manner that if striking to anyone who looks at your poster. Organize it in a manner that is expressing thoroughly the concepts of the film. Choose the right colors the complements the stills and background and select the color combination that allows important details to stand out an be noticed easily by anyone who looks at it.
Encode the text
Using the photoshop's text tools, type the title of the film correctly. The title and captions should be bold and noticeable enought to be read from a distance. Choose any stylish font you desire but at least have them in uniform. Other important details like when it would be shown and the cast and staff details should be of similar fonts as well. Also take note not to flood the entire poster with too much text as it will overshadow the image which is really the highlight.
Print the poster
After having all the important information integrated, have the poster printed. You can check for photo and poster printers in your local area.
