Jessica Ann Simpson was born on the July 10, 1980. Her claim to fame is a series of pop albums, and more recently acting roles on film and television. Seven of her songs rose to top 40 status and three of her CDs reached gold and two of them reached platinum status. Jessica Simpson starred in her sown reality TV show on MTV called Newlyweds - Jessica & Nick. The show was basically about her life with now ex husband Nick Lachey.
In 1999, Jessica Simpson released her first CD titled "I wanna love you forever." This album became a huge hit and became number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 list. It wasn't long before she released her second album which was titled "Sweet Kisses." This CD reached platinum status. Jessica Simpson was asked to be featured in a music video of the "boy band" 98 Degrees. This is when Nick and her started dating. After dating for about two years, the couple took a hiatus.
In the year 2001, Jessica Simpson did a follow-up album named Irresistible this time with Columbia Records. This CD featured a brand new sound and image and proved to be a complete hit.
During the year 2003, her reality show "Newlyweds: Jessica & Nick" aired on MTV as her new album "In this Skin" was released. This proved to be a winning strategy in making her into a household name.
Jessica Simpson was chosen to sing the National Anthem at the Indianapolis 500 in the month of May, 2004.
In 2004, Jessica Simpson and Nick created their own Sonny-and-Cher like variety show titled The Nick and Jessica Variety Hour, which wasn't very well received. around the same time Jessica Simpson released her Christmas Album: Re Joyce. In the year 2005, the TV show "Newlyweds" won the People's Choice Award.
At the age of 25, Jessica Simpson starred in the remake of the Dukes of Hazard as Daisy Duke. It became the number one movie in America for that weekend.
Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson were separated in 2006 and their divorce was finalized the same year.
